The British Society for Immunology is a dynamic membership organisation and a Learned Society, whose mission is to promote excellence in immunology research, scholarship and clinical practice. With over 3,000 members, we run scientific meetings across the UK, publish two science journals, and award grants and bursaries. The BSI also engages with the public and policy-makers through our communications, policy, partnership, careers activities and public engagement work.
We have a vacancy for a Policy & Public Affairs Manager to join our team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work within a science and health membership organisation and develop a range of policy and public affairs activities, as well as building up interesting and important partnerships in a dynamic field of research.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about science and healthcare and who has the capability to analyse and develop policies, with guidance from our members, in a way which strengthens our collective voice. It is important to secure influence and impact in a changing political and research environment by securing a good relationship with policy-makers, MPs, funders, the public, charities and external groups who matter to immunology.
