About us

Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.

This is your opportunity to join an ambitious and high-performing Policy and Campaigns team. In 2017, we saw England’s biggest change to homelessness law in 40 years passed following our award-winning No-One Turned Away campaign. We launched our first campaign in Scotland to tackle the use of unsuitable temporary accommodation. And we secured manifesto commitments to end rough sleeping, and £20m in the budget to help homeless people access private rented accommodation.

But that’s not enough. That’s why in 2018, we’ll publish a plan to end homelessness in England, Scotland and Wales for good. Once it’s ready, we won’t be leaving the plan on a shelf to go dusty; we’ll be campaigning to make sure it’s put into action. To end homelessness once and for all.

About the role

As Senior Campaigns and Public Affairs Officer, you’ll lead and project manage the development of Crisis’ influencing campaigns to end homelessness from inception to evaluation. As part of the campaigns team, you’ll co-ordinate and implement our influencing strategy, proactively engaging with political processes in England, Scotland and Wales to shape and deliver high profile public campaigns and parliamentary activity that successfully influences key decision makers.

Knowledge/Skills and Experience

About you

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced campaigner or public affairs professional, with a successful track record of delivering high profile, policy focused campaigns and political influencing aimed at national government. You’ll have an excellent understanding of the political and policy making process, and outstanding communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a persuasive manner. And you’ll be highly motivated to achieve change, and to help us end homelessness, once and for all.
