Policy Advisers (SEO) for EU Exit.
As one of our new Policy Advisers, you will play a crucial role in one of our priority EU Exit directorates:
- Marine and Fisheries
- The Strategy
- EU Exit Overview
- Future Farming
- Animal Plant Health
- EU and International Trade
- Environmental Regulations
In this role you will get to grips with a range of different policies, and you will draw on evidence and expertise inside and outside government to guide decisions about how they are developed. You may be doing this in a variety of ways, such as working in a team that is tasked with briefing ministers and senior officials, or supporting internal and external stakeholders to deliver results.
You will have the ability to approach complex problems with a structured mindset. Your outstanding analytical skills mean that you understand key issues and risks from often conflicting or unclear information. Bringing solutions and a high level of initiative, you will identify the links between complex systems and act with autonomy to get results.
You will be flexible, collaborative and adaptive in an uncertain environment, as well as having a creative, innovative and entrepreneurial approach. You will readily work with experts to help develop clear policy recommendations. Crucially, you will ensure that these are evidence-based and sensitive to the legal and political environment at Defra.
