Lloyds Banking Group seeks Group Public Affairs Manager

Lloyds Banking Group 5<y Senior Level  London, England, United Kingdom 23 Apr 2018

Job Description

Group Public Affairs Manager

Lloyds Banking Group is a financial-services company with millions of UK customers, both retail and commercial, and a presence in nearly every community. Our purpose is to help Britain prosper, and we thrive based on how well we serve our customers.

Be it home ownership, pensions freedoms or savings interest rates, most of our products and services are influenced by political and policy developments that are constantly evolving. And it’s our Group Public Affairs team that plays a key role in working with politicians, governments and regulators to manage our announcements, explain our point of view and encourage a conducive environment in which we can strive to become the best bank for our customers.

In joining this team of professionals, you’ll become a key player in our engagement with the UK parliament and government, devolved institutions, regional and local elected representatives, civil servants, regulators and trade associations. You’ll work on issues across the Group’s interests and brands, leading and supporting colleagues in developing our views and our engagement strategy while listening to what politicians and policy-makers think and care about.

We’ll be looking to make full use of your experience and knowledge of the UK political and policy environment and, ideally, your relationships with relevant stakeholders. You’ll be able to learn about the financial-services sector quickly if need be. You’ll be adept at assessing the business impact of external policy developments and at identifying, mitigating and escalating risks to protect and enhance the reputation and interests of the Group, showing the flexibility to adapt immediately to change while keeping our customers at the heart of everything you do. And you’ll have the ability to deliver counsel and written briefings to senior leaders, both within and beyond the Group, compellingly and authoritatively.

So if working for us in this hugely important arena appeals and you have the skills and experience we’re looking for, we’d like to hear from you.

This role may be worked as a job share therefore you are welcome to apply as an individual reduced hours applicant, or alongside another candidate. However please note that each candidate will be considered as an independent application, and reviewed on their own merit, therefore a specific partnership cannot be guaranteed.

Our vision of being the best bank for customers is dependent on every colleague committing to and demonstrating our core value of “putting customers first”. In joining us you’ll have a role that matters and will contribute towards the Group achieving our vision through your day-today actions being performed in line with our Codes of Responsibility and Group Policies. By individually and collectively committing to our Group values and codes, we will be able to make a difference together and help Britain prosper.

We’re also committed to employing a diverse and inclusive workforce, reflective of the customers and communities we serve – where all our colleagues can be themselves and succeed on merit.

We’re proud to have received the following industry recognition: ‘Stonewall Top Private Sector Employer’, ‘Top10 Employer for Working Families’, ‘The Times Top 50 Employer for Women’ and both ‘Gold Standard’ and “Best Workplace Adjustments Process” from the Business Disability Forum – each demonstrating our commitment to the principles of agile working and inclusion for all.

So if this sounds like a culture that you’d like to be a part of then be assured that we’ll welcome your application.
