This role sits in the embedded strategic communications team in the Eastern European and Central Asia Directorate (EECAD) of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
An exciting and rewarding new role at the heart of Government’s foreign policy and communications priorities. You will design and deliver creative and compelling campaigns to support UK international objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Using strategic communications expertise and real-world experience, design and deliver international campaigns that support policy strategies in the EECAD region;
• Work internationally across HM Government, the FCO overseas network and allies to inform and amplify through pro-active campaigns;
• Design strategic communications product including speeches, op-eds, digital content and other public-facing communications for Ministers, senior officials and overseas communications teams, working with specialist social and digital media content colleagues as necessary;
• Drive open source analysis and insight, and use this to inform campaigns. Evaluate campaigns using best practice to assess impact and results, draw lessons and ensure constant improvement;
• Share experience and expertise by actively contributing to the development of a professional strategic communications community in the FCO and Government more widely.

Person specification

• Proven expertise and experience in designing and delivering strategic communications campaigns.

• Proven ability in applying insights, monitoring and evaluating impact of campaigns.

• Ability to deliver with and through the team as well as our network of policy and communications colleagues.

• Project management skills to deliver long term campaigns, and other times the ability to respond to immediate deadlines under pressure.

• The skills to develop productive partnerships across the FCO, wider government and externally to help design and deliver creative and innovative campaigns.
