About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our public policy team at our office in Kings Cross, London. Assisting the Public Affairs Manager, you will identify and deliver public affairs activities, ensuring the inclusion of people who have complex communication needs, including those who are deafblind and their families in campaigning and other policy forums.
Specifically, you will be responsible for producing an evidence base and case study examples by recruiting, interviewing and maintaining relationships with individuals who want to tell their story to support our reports, campaigns, public affairs or media activities.
In relation to specific campaigns, you will assist in writing information and materials for social media, the website, newsletters, etc., monitor and respond to queries and utilise e campaigning software. You will ensure that people with complex communication needs and their families are able to take part in Sense campaign activities and are empowered to make their views known on relevant policy issues.
You will also provide support to the Public Affairs Manager by conducting research with national stakeholder groups, on local government structures and policy making processes, and through effective monitoring of parliamentary activity including supporting party conference activities, parliamentary receptions, lobbies and seminars.
We are looking for a passionate individual with excellent communication skills. You are able to build strong relationships across a diverse range of internal and external contacts in a busy and demanding role.
