Unicef seeks Senior Private Sector Policy & Advocacy Adviser
Senior Private Sector Policy & Advocacy Adviser
Unicef UK’s Public Affairs team strives to improve government policy and practice on children issues in the UK and internationally, by presenting decision-makers with a compelling case for change based on evidence, through lobbying and public campaigning. This post will operate as part of the Children’s Rights and Business Unit, established in 2014 to further develop Unicef UK’s ability to achieve positive change for children by working with businesses and governments.
As Senior Private Sector Policy & Advocacy Adviser, you will influence the private sector to more effectively protect and support children’s rights, acting as senior technical lead. You will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across the organisation to maximise our ability to achieve better outcomes for children, and you will represent Unicef UK externally at senior level meetings, managing and influencing significant relationships with businesses and across the policy community.
To succeed in this role, you should have experience of developing detailed, evidence-based positions on business and children’s rights, corporate sustainability and accountability and presenting them in a clear, well-argued and compelling way. We are looking for experience of undertaking primary research and human rights impact assessments with multi-national companies, as well as excellent relationship management and influencing skills.
Closing date: 5pm, Wednesday 29 November 2017.
Interviews: Wednesday 13 December 2017.
